Ask me

Mohan on April 25th, 2011

Regular about pages are boring, aren’t they? In addition to having a typical “About Me” page, I decided to have a page where visitors could ask what they want to know instead of me telling them what I think they should know. So go ahead, ask me a question. Of course these questions are moderated, but pretty much anything goes (within reason).

  1. Hello Mohan – we’ve met a few times back in the Diamond days and at a few Kellogg events. Thanks for the reference to the “Belief Project” in your blog. You have it exactly right – wireless has been the “venus fly trap” of retail experiences for more than a decade. With all the marketing I learned at Kellogg, operational and strategic experience at Diamond and 3 years of research (S – T – P), strategy, business case development and requirements/design/test/launch, we are finally in market.

If you ever find an opportunity where you’d like a speaker (at a class or event) to talk about transformational change focused on leveraging the irrational behavior of customers, let me know.

  4. Dear Hamitcan,

Thanks for your note. It will be difficult for me to travel to Turkey in Feb as I teach in the MBA program. Can I speak by videoconference? That might be a way to participate.

  6. Hi

I have used your PhotoWars software for a number of years and know the game well. I like its emphasis on the budget.

My school has moved to Windows 7 64 bit and is unable to load the software. Is there any plan to come out with a 64 bit version unlike the 32 bit? Or is it available somewhere?

  7. I was inspired by your writing on “Finding your groove”, i am very much the driftwood, buckled by society and norms and now in teaching marketing for the last three years after spending a decade in marketing post my MBA. Found doing a Ph.D in India to be pointless as it is just a “degree”. Want to do research in USA on consumer behavior. (did some research and have a paper ready to publish too but not as part of a Ph.D)

Will it be worth visiting USA and collaborating with faculty there to be my guide in my Ph.D?
I am getting paid for enjoying my classroom sessions but want to make a meaning in what i learn.

    Seek your advice.

    Regards,
    Mahadev

  8. Yes, a Ph.D in the US is a rewardng experience but it is a life time commitment, so make sure this is what you want to do!
